! Conflicting data

The brand lists two different figures, for example the spec table and the manual. We show both. In comparisons we use the figure least favourable to you (lower capacity, heavier weight, shorter range), unless one source is clearly more specific, like a certificate over a marketing claim. If we can't tell which is right, we use neither.

Status colors always pair with an icon and a word, so they work without color vision.

How a figure gets in

We read each brand's own product page, spec table and manual, and record every figure with the page it came from and the date we checked it. Reviews, retailers and Amazon listings from other sellers never count as verified. Rider limit and total load are kept apart: a total load includes cargo, so it never stands in for a rider limit. Where two brands sell the same frame under different names, each model page links to the other; we don't claim the companies are related.

Brand facts (warranty, US support, where a brand sells and its return policy) come from the brand's own warranty, contact and policy pages, or its Amazon listing when it has no site of its own. "US support" means a US phone line or office the brand publishes; a returns warehouse or a registered-agent address doesn't count as an office, and we say so.

Model pages link the brochures, spec sheets, manuals and certificates a brand publishes as PDFs, but only files on the brand's own site or linked from its product pages. Manuals are often older than the product page, or shared across models, so the spec sheet uses the product page. When a PDF prints a different figure, the model page says so.

We currently list 191 trikes on sale. State law pages cover all 50 states and DC and cite the statute or state agency page for every rule. Where a state's law doesn't say whether a trike counts as an e-bike, we say it's unclear rather than guess.

Scores use only figures from manufacturer pages. A figure the brand doesn't publish scores nothing. Models missing a score's main figure aren't ranked until the brand publishes it.
